Committed to vision, we enable people to “see more and be more” thanks to our innovative designs and lens technologies, exceptional quality and cutting-edge processing methods.   The content of the position is in English as it requires many interactions with our international subsidiaries, English being the working language.   Digital innovation is now at the heart of EssilorLuxottica’s growth strategy to maintain its leadership position, and the Company is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible to understand how to best serve its consumers.   Information about the department and the team: EssilorLuxottica's Research & Development Department continues to expand its capacities to accelerate the development of essential digital technologies to support the Group’s ambition.   The “Digital Innovation” team develops new digital technologies to support lens innovation and accelerate lens products penetration in all channels. Its mission is to monitor the rapidly changing digital environment, to assess emerging technologies, to partner with the best start-ups and/or universities, to deliver “digital solutions” specific to the optical industry. To achieve this, the team works closely with its business & marketing divisions to transform these technologies into usable products that meet the specific needs of users and markets.   Those technologies are iteratively tested from concept phase until implementation in the market. Those tests allow to: Orientate decisions regarding technical choices for project teams; Validate the solutions and write essential reports for regulatory needs and to also support products claims. In addition, among those new technologies, Artificial Intelligence algorithms are developed by the department, and they require new means to be able to assess and validate them.   Within the scope of your role, you will perform the following tasks:   Analyze the solution and define the influencing parameters, define the evaluation protocol, carry out the measurements or follow the tests, analyze the results and write the reports. Participate in the development of a bench for the smartphone/Tablet characterization. Participate in driving the quality plan to anticipate the ISO certification. Setup and follow-up of the metrological means in accordance with the Quality plan. Perform the tests required through the whole process from concept to validation. Assess external solutions available on the market.   You will ideally have most of the following skills and experience:   A master’s degree or Engineering qualification related to Instrumentation and Measurement methods or Metrology. A first experience of 3-6 years in the evaluation of measuring devices. Experience with setting up benches of measure. Experience with calculating measurement uncertainties, able to detect aberrant data and search for the causes, collect and present the data rigorously. Strong skills to solve operational problems, able to make conclusions alone and propose additional tests if necessary. Correctly understand the needs and deliver the expected deliverables. Be able to challenge the already existing protocols and methods. Autonomous but respectful of team decisions and company operating rules (HSE policies, internal procurement process etc.). Technically savvy: use and modify scripts in Python; install an application on a smartphone, a tablet, or a computer, get data from a smartphone or a tablet with iTunes.   #LI-RM1
