Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Enginee r to work on projects related to our Transportation/Buildings + Places lines of business in Clifton NJ and NYC Metro Area.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Complete Electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes;

  • Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with input from senior staff;

  • Plans design work, calculates costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects;

  • Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers

  • Maintains accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files;

  • Acts as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members;

  • Evaluates project staffing requirements, Analyzes problems and writes reports;

  • Attends project meetings, or when appropriate, delegates activities;

  • Meets with clients, prepares proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relations;

  • Identifies prospective clients, assists in marketing to develop new clients, and develops future projects with existing clients;

  • Assists in project checking for quality control on other projects;

  • Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments

  • Represents the organization and maintains liaison with individuals and related organizations

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or Architectural-Engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited program + 4 years’ of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering license preferred

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans and drawings

  • Ability to switch between work on multiple/different projects daily

  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and take pride in your work

  • Experienced in Electrical Power Calculation Software

  • Experienced in Lighting Calculation Software

  • Experienced in application of National Electrical Code

  • Working knowledge of NFPA, ISA, IEEE Regulatory Codes

  • Skill in the use of Microsoft programs and BIM software (primarily Revit and AutoCAD);

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups;

  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise

Offered rate of compensation (New York locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $115,000- $130,000
