POSITION SUMMARY:
Position will be responsible for developing timely and accurate project cost estimates for labor services. Key function of producing our cost estimate will be the ability to accurately complete quantity take-offs and apply estimated hours. Person will be responsible for analyzing RFQ documents to assure that all information that has been provided will allow us to accurately identify project scope of work, and any potential risks.
Individual must be able to professionally collaborate with the client and the internal business development team possessing a “Bid it to Win it” attitude throughout the RFQ process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follow approved estimating practices consistent with company guidelines. Ensure such practices result in the most complete estimates possible while ensuring the financial objectives are met
- Analyze job specifications, architectural blueprints, client shop drawings, design intent drawings, and any related supporting documents to create accurate quantity take-offs
- Assign estimated hours to identified scope of work, utilizing established time-standard libraries, and creating new time-standard libraries as necessary
- Prepare cost analysis using established cost worksheet for labor, travel, and miscellaneous expenses
- Assist with maintaining estimating libraries, understand and accurately allocate appropriate hours and skillset level to new library items
- Create subcontractor RFQ’s and manage quotes for sub-trade work when applicable
- Collaborate with Business Development and Account Management teams to produce a comprehensive written proposal using appropriate established templates
- Ensure compliance with company standards, evaluate risks and client requirements
- Attend pre-bid meetings which may involve travel as necessary
- Provide project and estimate overview upon contract award to the Project Management team or other company stakeholders
- Assist in creating a culture of continuous improvement providing world class cost estimating execution
- Develop innovative means and methods for completing projects to increase competitiveness and margin

This position is best suited to candidates who are technically savvy, have strong communication skills, can work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Candidates must be accountable, reliable, detail oriented, and have a construction management or related degree or commercial estimating experience.

Requirements:

- Ability to interpret blueprints and perform takeoffs. Advanced skills in blueprint reading
- Understands retail fixtures, cabinetry, and millwork construction

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, wood technology, or related construction degree
- Minimum 5 Years estimating experience in a retail or commercial construction environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and CAD, and/or blueprint software
