U.S. Water Services Corporation is a well-established and diverse water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering, and construction services. U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 850 plus employees in twenty states.
Schedule:
- 4 days per week, per diem
- Must be willing to travel throughout Florida
- Must be available to work some overnights
General Duties:
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
- Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to regularly lift at least 50 pounds of force
- General understanding of automobile, light and heavy-duty equipment, operation, and maintenance
- Hydraulic experience a plus.
- Air brake experience a plus.
- Willingness to put forth extra effort
- Communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to take direction and carry out job duties as needed and without supervision
- Maintains a valid CDL driver's license with endorsements and be insurable under company insurance provider/program
- Be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Must be able to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
- Must be able to travel to all regions if needed.
