Job Title: Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Test Engineer
Location: Hill AFB, UT (Hybrid)
Canvas is seeking a Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Test Engineer! This is a mid-level position located at Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), as part of the 719th Test Squadron under the 804th Test Group affiliated with Arnold Engineering Development Complex, and will provide oversight of and conduct Sentinel ICBM Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis test activities. This position is to provide assistance and advisory services to the DoD.
Duties:
- Provide technical support to the Sentinel Combined Test Force (CTF) Lead Developmental Test & Evaluation Organization (LDTO) in developmental test and evaluation (DT&E) activities for Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) missile systems.
- Support Sentinel developmental test efforts to assess performance against stated program requirements.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary government and contractor team to plan, test, analyze, and report through multiple program acquisition phases.
- Support CTF Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) capability development and assessment to aid AFNWC in owning the technical baseline for Sentinel through use of high-fidelity system models and digital engineering.
- Support the testing and integration of modeling and simulation solutions into decision support tools to provide decision makers with course of action options, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Guide CTF Verification & Validation efforts during DT&E to support operational test agency accreditation of system models.
- Apply technical knowledge in specific areas to integrate test and modeling products and support weapon system evaluation related to areas of expertise.
- Lead and mentor junior team members as assigned.
- Support periodic reviews of integrated test results and test plan status. Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Integrated Test Teams (ITTs) as appropriate.
- Provide technical support and advocate integrated approaches of engineering efforts and support of test activities for which existing guidelines may not be available or applicable.
- Serve as a test team participant in the development of documents such as the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), System Test Plan (STP), Developmental Test (DT) Report, recommendation for IOT&E readiness, and other technical documents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field; Master's degree in STEM desired.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with computational tools such as MATLAB and Simulink for 6DOF simulations, including developing plots and analyzing time series data.
- Experience with Python programming and working in a Git repository.
- Experience with applications such as CAMEO Enterprise Architecture and IBM DOORS.
- Familiarity with flight dynamics and control theory.
- Work is timely, efficient and of acceptable quality. Completed work meets project/program objectives.

- Verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and at appropriate level.

- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
- Focused adherence to safety and security requirements.
Desired Experience:
- Familiarity with test & evaluation planning and processes consistent with DoD acquisition directives and policies.
- Familiarity with ICBM weapon systems and related subsystems/equipment, their projected use in the military, and methods of testing.
- Familiarity with flight test data analysis/evaluation, modeling and simulation, and technical report preparation.
- Familiarity with analyzing GPS and telemetry data requirements for missile performance accuracy. Previous work experience in a Lead Developmental Test and Evaluation Organization (LDTO) or Operational Test Organization (OTO) environment.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance. The selected candidate must be able to succesfully complete a polygraph screening examination.
*Exceptionally qualified candidates will be considered with a current Secret Clearance for upgrade to Top Secret.
Other Essential Job Functions: Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
