Motorsport Customer Application Engineer

Job DescriptionBosch Motorsport North America is looking to add to their high performance team with a Customer Application Engineer to foster its growth in developing products specifically designed for Motorsport purposes. This position will be responsible for the following:Customer application engineering of Motorsport products on-site at customer, track, other development sitesInterface with development teams to ensure alignment of application activities relevant to development Motorsport productsAdherence to applicable software and product development processes to ensure expected high qualityAbility to troubleshoot and resolve both component and system level issues related to software implementation of Motorsport products in end use applicationsIntegration of continuous improvement practices into daily work to improve performance, timing, cost, and qualityOpportunity to expand role in additional product areas outside of application engineering, such as project managementDomestic and international travel up to 20% (20-30 days) per year (on-site at customer, track, other domestic and international development sites)QualificationsBasic QualificationsBachelors Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, Mechanical (with software or controls emphasis) Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent0 - 2 years experience with academic or industry in application or calibration engineering0 - 2 years experience in a client interfacing role that includes working directly with customers within the complete customer journey cyclePreferred QualificationsBachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, Mechanical (with software or controls emphasis) Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalentExperience working directly with customers within the complete customer journey cycleExperience working with hybrid and/or battery electric vehiclesExperience with programming and scripting including: MATLAB, Simulink, Python; especially in conjunction with data processing and/or for simulation purposesHands-on automotive experience related to holistic vehicle system design and analysis (e.g. engine repair work/rebuilds, engine management, etc.)Experience in using test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscope, CANalyzer, dSPACE and/or ETAS prototyping systems, etc.)Experience with networks and related technologies (IP, cloud)Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and debug software and electrical implementation issuesIndustry experience in professional Motorsport, significant FSAE, or equivalentEffective verbal and written communication skillsGerman language skillsIdeal Candidate CharacteristicsStrong sense of personal accountability and comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment together with customersSelf-disciplined, self-motivated, and effective at time management to work on multiple projects in parallel in order to meet project milestonesAbility to work both independently and in a small team, while fitting within the global Bosch Motorsport working cultureWorking knowledge of electromechanical systemsAbility to articulate ideas and make contributions both verbally and in written formAbility to problem-solve to develop solutions on own, breaking down complex problems into distinct parts in order to managing uncertainty and to anticipate interdependenciesWillingness to learn and grow outside of area of own responsibilityWillingness to share knowledge within the teamFocus on continuous improvement
