Naval Architect

Serves as project's subject matter expert in those design and construction activities related to vessel hullform, resistance and powering, seakeeping, maneuvering, intact and damaged stability, hull structural design, vessel weight, hull outfitting, and coating systems CONTRACTOR personnel providing these SERVICES will be acting as Charterer's Representative; interaction with shipyard personnel will be controlled within the boundaries defined by the shipbuilding contract(s) and charterparty(s) CONTRACTOR personnel providing these SERVICES must leverage their prior experience as an owner's representative to ensure that the Vessel Owner / Operator site teams are applying the standards of a first class LNGC shipowner CONTRACTOR personnel providing these SERVICES may be interacting with multiple Vessel Owner / Operator site teams, each with a different shipbuilding contract; strict adherence to confidentiality obligations must be observed at all times Your Tasks Supervises the hullform design, hull structure, outfitting engineering, and coating system activities Reviews and approves the design, drawings and analysis work to ensure design and construction activities of Shipyards/Owners are in compliance with specification requirements, good engineering practice and Rules, Regulations & standards. Prepare the Survey and Inspection Reports in accordance with applicable requirements Ensure drawing review and approval are done within the contractual time and document any changes to vessel drawings upon completion of modifications by following PMOC process Review Shipyard's project plans and work specification for each individual vessel and provide technical support to procurement and construction activities Develop and monitor project metrics, manage the collection of project data and provide regular reports to project management Formulate project parameters, including design elements and implementation procedures Supports project management with implementation of Project Execution Plan (PEP) and other requirements Attends Technical and Construction Progress Meetings with Shipyard/Owner Promptly report to the Management any irregularities or concerns related to Safety, Quality or any other areas which may impact the project execution or compromise compliance with Company Standards and Policies. Your Profile (R) Degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or adjacent field (R) Minimum 20 years' experience in related field and project planning & coordination of activities within the Oil & Gas and Marine Construction Industry, including minimum 3 years' experience in the design of LNG carriers and minimum 3 years' experience either (a) on a shipyard site team as either an owner's or charterer's representative, or (b) as an employee in the design department of a shipyard (p) Experience as an owner's or charterer's representative in any of the the (4) Shipyards, or as an employee in the design department of any of the (4) Shipyards A thorough knowledge of applicable regulations, Class Rules, and industry codes and standards as relates to this field of expertise Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent written and spoken English skills Familiar with Piping, Structural, Electrical &Automation standards, design and conversions Familiar with governing standards and Class Rules Ability to work unsupervised and as part of large team Must be capable of positive decision-making & demonstrating a high level of judgement & responsibility Good communication, planning and organizational skills. Familiarity with Shipping related documents Demonstrate high quality work with a proactive and results orientated attitude. Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and PC Skills, proficient in design software Our Offer Salary: Day Rate in USD Plus Allowance Work Schedule: 10 Hours / 6 Days Duration: 3 years, with possible extension Location: Qatar
