Job Title: Construction Manager (Fiber Network)

Location: Remote (Field position in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky Districts)
Position Type: Possible Temp to Perm Assignment

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Construction Manager to oversee the Fiber Network Construction team. This is a field position responsible for the day-to-day administrative activities related to fiber network construction, including splicing, network design, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily administrative activities, including creating purchase orders (POs), change management (CMs), and reviewing invoices for accuracy.
  • Review splice packages from Fiber Engineering and manage fiber splicing operations within the assigned geographic area.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve the billing processes, deliverables, and the end-to-end splicing process.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on area data, understanding operational business functions and processes.
  • Maintain open communication across the business and work collaboratively with the network construction team.
  • Deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OpEx spend, MTTR, % On-Time Install, fiber completion for small cell, and installed enterprise revenue.
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders and process contractor invoices for splicing functions.
  • Assist with project financials and milestone management, including forecasting and tracking vendor POs and resolving past-due invoices.
  • Develop progress reports, track project progress, and identify/resolves obstacles.
  • Communicate issues to management before they reach critical status.
  • Order necessary supplies for splicing activities and oversee communication with vendors about splicing work and billing.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Fiber cable splicing
  • OTDR testing
  • Fiber network design
  • OSP and ISP fiber construction
  • Construction and splicing crew management
  • Power utility make-ready work (NESC knowledge)
  • UG utility location and re-routing
  • Utility pole proposal management (experience with SPANS, NJUNS, Katapult )
