Working as part of the IT Directorate, the Enterprise Systems team ensures effective operation, administration and maintenance of RBG Kew’s business-related systems on a daily basis providing almost 365 cover. The Analyst will provide day-to-day support to User Groups across Kew as well as playing an integral part in the support of the back-end systems that underpin all the organisation's IT needs.

This is a 1-yr fixed term position. It is based at Kew Gardens, with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

You will be expected to cover 7.2h a day between 8am and 6pm with occasional out of hours projects that might require ad-hoc remote and/or on-site assistance.

* Salary: £33,802 - £39,759 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience

Essential Skills/Experience

* Working experience with enterprise LAN/WAN networks, Extreme Networks

* Working experience with firewalls. Palo-Alto

* Working experience with monitoring tools, Nagios

* Working experience in troubleshooting, fault and performance debugging, diagnostics, and remediation

* Knowledge of enterprise networking infrastructure architecture, configuration and troubleshooting

* Understanding of network design topologies: like OSPF, VPN, ISIS, etc

* Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and other network protocols

* Good understanding of ISO/OSI model

* Ability to use or onboard a wide variety of networking technologies.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to collate and present information clearly and succinctly.
