NICET IV Fire Alarm Engineer

Role and Responsibilities
The NICET IV Fire Alarm Engineer position will be working in the office closely with our Estimating and Operation departments.
- Engineer and create fire alarm shop drawings to meet the design build project scope of work utilizing state codes and NFPA requirements.
- Have working knowledge of FIRECAD software in designing fire alarm systems for submittal approval is desirable.
- Create fire alarm equipment submittal packages of designed systems utilizing the manufacturers data sheets.
- Be familiar with JCI/Simplex and JCI/AutoCall fire alarm equipment is a plus.
- Responsible to meet project Fire Alarm Submittal deadlines and Estimates
- Provides technical support for the Estimating Department and the Project Managers
- Work with Estimating team to provide fire alarm equipment estimates for pre-designed and design build projects.
- Estimates and reviews change orders for existing jobs
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- NICET Level IV Certification
- Prefer 5 years’ experience in Engineering Fire alarm Safety Systems
- Ability to read and understand contract drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of applicable State, local requirements, IBC and NFPA requirements
(Demonstrated PC skills with Excel, Word, as well as experience using a customer database management system)
- A strong working knowledge in using AutoCAD / FireCAD
- Individual also performs administrative tasks in office environment utilizing standard office equipment
- Must possess valid driver's license
Skills
High School Diploma or GED. Some college . (Minimum of 2+ years of administrative and/or project coordinating experience with a medium to large sized company is required.) Must have excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Outlook.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
