Details Nuclear Medicine Physician, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, University of Utah Description : The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a full time Nuclear Medicine physician with subspecialty training in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging to support our rapidly growing Nuclear Medicine section. This individual is expected to make a significant impact in the field of nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, theranostics, and related areas through innovations and to contribute to a collegial environment that will promote the clinical and academic growth of the section. The candidate will join an experienced cohesive team of nuclear medicine physicians, providing excellent patient care covering the entire gamut of nuclear medicine services. The candidate is expected to provide clinical services; initiate research projects; actively engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; and participate in quality improvement and value initiatives. The academic appointment will be at a rank commensurate with training and experience. Qualifications : The candidate should be American Board of Radiology or American Board of Nuclear Medicine certified or eligible, fellowship trained in nuclear medicine, and have a strong interest and experience in academic radiology. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite. The candidate should have strong research experience and prior evidence of research productivities. Facilities and Institution: The Nuclear Medicine section provides diagnostic imaging and theranostics services at the University Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute, an NCI -designated premier cancer center. The section has a rich history of nuclear medicine developments. The department invented Tc-99m MAG3 in late 80’s and has adopted theranostics first time in the State of Utah. The section is known for excellence in clinical care, education and research. The Department offers an outstanding residency program in Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology. Extensive state-of-the-art imaging resources, including multiple PET -CTs, multiple MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperative MRI , and MR-guided focused ultrasound which are available for clinical work and research. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET - MRI and 7T MRI , are also available. Research opportunities abound, with a broad case mix from the sources described above, as well as the world-class unique support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research ( UCAIR ) in the Department. UCAIR offers international expertise in imaging sciences, including basic sciences, physics and engineering, MRI research, and CT and PET research.
