Florida Heart Associates is seeking a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. A $5000 sign-on bonus is available. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing large cardiology practice. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform nuclear medicine cardiac procedures as requested by the provider applying the proper scan protocols.

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine training program.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with cardiac imaging and I.V. puncture skills required.
  • Candidate MUST have a minimum of 5 years of Nuclear Cardiac Imaging.
  • Cardiac PET/CT experience .

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT or CNMT)
  • Current Florida license in Nuclear Medicine Technology

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Start I.V.’s and inject radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Perform cardiac imaging and analysis.
  • Perform quality control on cameras and hot lab instruments.
  • Radiation safety procedures and record keeping.
  • Archive scan data.
  • Assist cardiologist and nurse in emergency situations.
  • Assist with maintaining accreditation and following guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervising manager

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Skill in intravenous puncture skills.
  • Knowledge of cardiac scanning principles and SPECT imaging.
  • Understanding of radiation protection and A.L.A.R.A. principles.
  • Ability to critique image quality, troubleshoot technical issues and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Skill in attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers and patients.
  • Ability to behave in a manner that exemplifies respect for others and the spirit of teamwork.
  • Ability to use methods of protection from chemical, radiation, and bio-hazardous materials
