Relocation Assistance in the form of a lump sum amount will be considered (less applicable taxes).*This posting is for a Nuclear Safety Analysis EngineerSeeking a Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer with capability and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer, Radiological Dose Analysis, Thermodynamics, Thermal/hydraulic modeling and analysis, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, High Energy Line Break (HELB) Pressure & Temperature analysis. Duties include: Interfacing with various other groups to collaborate with cross-discipline teams to resolve identified areas for modification and/or improvement. Cross-training among the other groups within the Nuclear Engineering Department is desirable; such as supporting Reactor Engineering and Operations during fuel unload, shuffle, leak detection, reload and startup physics testing. Also cross-training to support Probabilistic Risk Assessment activities. POSITION SUMMRAYResponsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Technical Expertise: Possesses intermediate level knowledge and performs varied assignments with proficiency in the application of theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analysis. Performs routine engineering activity with minimum direction from higher-level employees. Planning & Organization Ability: Coordinates the development of input necessary to forecast costs for the routine projects, improvements requisitions, etc. Uses scheduling techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts, etc.) for budget and planning activities. Initiates corrective action when project objectives are not being met. Problem Solving & Initiative: Resolves and initiates solutions to routine problems which usually require additional definition/clarification before analysis can begin. Develops an understanding of utility regulation and financing#LI-HYBRID RequirementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR NUCLEAR ENGINEER:Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*;Individuals with a Master's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Acceptable alternatives are (1) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or (2) a Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR NUCLEAR ENGINEER (UPPER MID-LEVEL):Has typically acquired 4 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master’s degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*;Individuals with a PhD in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET* may be considered for entry into the organization at this level;Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is encouraged and preferred.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR NUCLEAR ENGINEER, SR:Has typically acquired 6 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited ABET* OR 4 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*Registration as a PE in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico* is encouraged and preferred.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR NUCLEAR ENGINEER, PRINC:Has typically acquired 8 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* OR 6 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is required for this position unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR NUCLEAR ENGINEER, STAFF:Has typically acquired 10 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or 8 years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*;Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is required for this position unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP.OTHER REQUIREMENTS (FOR ALL LEVELS):Physical demand level is Sedentary*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
