Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Nuclear Safety Program Manager. Our team works a hybrid 9X80 schedule located at our Willow Creek Building in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off! Responsibilities Include: • Manage staff, set, and align goals and priorities; manage staff resources, address personnel issues, provide technical resources, project staffing needs and hire staff, provide periodic staff performance reviews, ensure individual training plans and employee position descriptions are aligned to personnel's roles and responsibilities, mentoring staff, provide professional development opportunities. • Arrange for contracted work staff and products, as needed and budgeted, to supplement full-time staff. With input from other Nuclear Safety Managers, arranges for staff to perform analytical tasks at MFC, ATR, CITRC, CFA, and REC. Reviews and approves staff-prepared products. • Manage the Laboratory Nuclear Safety Engineering (NSE) Program to establish and maintain efficient, INL-wide documented safety analysis programs and procedures including the USQ and PISA processes, that are consistent with 10 CFR 830, Subpart B and DOE's nuclear safety policies, requirements, and expectations. • Own the INL standardized DSA (SAR-400 and TSR-400) and manages staff for the development, maintenance, and implementation of SAR & TSR-400. • Direct staff as necessary to obtain company-level and DOE-ID reviews and approvals of safety basis documentation and other products: Oversees staff preparation, checking, comment resolution, and brief executive leadership for approval. Manage relationships with peer NFMs and reviewers to ensure adequate technical resources to enable efficient and value-added reviews. Controls budget and scope for the development and implementation of lab-wide radioactive material inventory tracking and transfer methods. • Nuclear Safety Engineering Subject Matter Expert to determine efficient and safe technical solutions to internal/external customers, including those at a national level. Responsible for maintaining relationships with internal/external peers, affected departments, and customers. Network with other national laboratories and peer groups, including participation in the EFCOG SAWG to influence DOE nuclear safety standards and procedures. • In partnership with F&SS Operations, manage assignments, training, and development of matrixed Operations Specialists (e.g. Radioactive Material Acceptance Custodians, RMACs).Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree and 9 years relevant experience, or Advanced degree plus 7 years relevant experience. • "L" / "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
