An occupational health nurse provide for and deliver health and safety programs and services to workers, worker populations.

As an Employee HR Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing guidance and consultation to HSE and HR on aspects of occupational health related to ADA, Mandatory Medical Assessments, Medication Clearance, Accommodations, Workers’ Compensation compliance, and Travel Health Services (including the Travel Accommodation program)
  • Facilitating mandatory fit-for-duty exam process, from scheduling to follow-up appointments and outcome management
  • Monitoring and provides business guidance to the US injury case management third party administrator
  • Providing guidance and acts as the point person for various medical accommodations processes and transitional work arrangements in alignment with all state and federal laws and regulations
  • Supporting the Baker Hughes Drug & Alcohol team in review and completion of mandatory medication clearances, with support from the Global Medical Director.
  • Partnering with HSE on accident investigation to determine recordability, causality, and work-relatedness of incident and reporting of potential OSHA recordable cases as required
  • Interacting with the Global Occupational Health Program Leader and Baker Hughes Global Medical Director for medical case escalations and in-depth medical reviews
  • Working in direct partnership with the Baker Hughes Leave & , Workers’ Compensation, Drug & Alcohol, and Human Resources teams
  • Maintaining relevant occupational injury / illness records in a confidential, HIPAA compliant manner
  • Ability to escalate concerns to management and business segment leaders, when appropriate
  • Handling complex professional work when required.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of business essential global occupational health programs and enhancement of current occupational health programs
  • Assisting the Global Occupational Health Program Leader and the Global Medical Director in providing oversight of global occupational health clinical functions.

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing with current nursing license
  • Evidence of continuing professional education in occupational health (eg. MPH, Certified Occupational Health Nurse or Certified Case Manager
  • 5 years of work experience in occupational health nursing or medical case management.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical case management, as well as local, state, and federal medical regulations. Examples include HIPAA, ADAA, FMLA, and Worker Compensation.
  • Have good oral, written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills. Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to adapt working style and work in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic health record software.
