Occupational Health & Safety Manager

We’re looking for a dedicated Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) professional to champion workplace safety and compliance. In this role, you’ll lead the charge in creating a safer work environment, reducing risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll oversee and implement safety programs, drive a culture of injury prevention, and maintain compliance with drug, alcohol, and PRIA regulations. What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute OHS programs that promote a safe and compliant workplace while minimizing environmental impact.

  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

  • Lead the implementation of an effective occupational health and safety management system at the plant level, driving continuous improvement.

  • Design and deliver cost-effective safety training programs that meet regulatory requirements.

  • Establish and enforce OHS policies, procedures, and best practices, staying ahead of new regulatory changes.

  • Conduct facility safety assessments, identify risks, and implement corrective actions based on internal and external audits.

  • Report on OHS performance to leadership and support compliance audits across all company locations.

  • Manage all OHS training initiatives and ensure company-wide participation.

  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective action plans.

  • Track and analyze injury, illness, and environmental data to reduce incidents and associated costs.

  • Oversee compliance with environmental regulations, reporting, permitting, and corporate EHS standards.

  • Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and cases.

  • Collaborate with department leaders to foster a proactive safety culture.

  • Advise on all OHS and environmental legal requirements to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DEQ regulations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

  • Develop and mentor direct reports and functional leaders.

  • Maintain and administer the company’s Drug, Alcohol, and PRIA program.

  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety ().

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.

  • Strong ability to build relationships at all levels and collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Deep expertise in OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation, and safety laws.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making.

  • Strong leadership and influence skills to drive change.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

  • Eye and hearing protection required on the production floor.

  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
