Job Overview: The Associate Electrical Engineer is responsible for utilizing existing Electrical procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction guidance and direction from others within the team and will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories practices and procedures related to Electrical and Engineering. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Be familiar with the Company procedures work instructions guidelines and standards for work to be performed and asked guidance where required Perform detailed design engineering analysis and calculations on basic engineering tasks Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under the close supervision and mentoring of an experienced engineer Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others Communicate information asking questions and checking for understanding Gain an understanding of the project scope of work specifications schedule and all interdiscipline requirements Perform calculations for the power distribution system Produce consumer lists from available equipment data Make sizing calculations of electrical equipment and components Populate electrical items in electrical databases like SPEL Make electrical oneline diagrams Prepare sketches of detailed design to guide Designers Requisition and specify simple bulk materials including TBE and SDR Check drawings Keep the Lead Engineer apprised of all activities progress and concerns Develop an awareness of costs related to own work Develop a basic understanding of MDRs business and the customers it serves Develop basic knowledge of MDRs business units and interactions including engineering and fabrication Develop advanced skills in the use of standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint Reports to: Project: Lead Engineer Functional: Supervising Department Manager Liaise With: Engineers Design Supervisors and Designers of their own discipline Essential Qualifications and Education: Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Engineering 03 years experience in oil and gas Learning the content and application of standards codes and guidelines as applicable Learning design techniques and analysis methods Preferably a Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or a member of a professional engineering society #LIDA1 This job has been sourced from an external job board.
