Offshore Geotechnical Project Engineer

We are looking for a Project Engineer with strong technical experience in the geotechnical design of offshore projects. As a Project Engineer, you will participate in the coordination and delivery of engineering services for offshore wind projects, which requires a comprehensive view of the offshore wind sector and multitasking and flexibility skills to pivot the participation in these services. It is requested previous experience in the development of geotechnical designs for offshore wind farms (on the side of the administration, engineering companies, developers/utilities or contractors). Key Accountabilities Develop planning and specifications of offshore geotechnical site surveys. Management of the geotechnical discipline within projects Main point of contact with our clients and responsible for the preparation of our deliverables within the expected timeline, budget, and quality Coordination of project developments in the bid and execution phases. Support on the preparation and coordination of documentation to successfully participate in future offshore wind auctions (seabed lease and/or offtake) and development (to FID) phases. Potentially people management responsibility. Contribution to technical development. Documenting project results as well as attending and conducting project meetings with clients. Ensure that key interfaces, risks and actions within OWF engineering are tracked, managed and necessary interventions identified and closed out. Understand, quantify and articulate project delivery risk to enable transparent and fully informed business decisions to be made by project leadership. Ensure knowledge transfer between projects. Review and verify design documentation related to geotechnical studies, foundations, cable buried assessment, onshore-offshore transitions, etc. during the different design and construction phases. Required Education and Professional Experience 10 years of professional experience in offshore projects, of which at least five (5) in offshore wind energy, with a deep understanding of offshore geotechnical design matters. Education Required: Master’s degree or PhD in civil engineering, preferably a focus on geotechnical engineering. Required Knowledge & Hard Skills Several years of work and practical experience in offshore geotechnical engineering, including numerical modelling and seismic design. Strong Technical Background in Offshore Wind Projects, and desirable experience in offshore wind floating projects. Experience in the specification, and supervision of geotechnical offshore site investigations and ground model definition. Experience in the design of offshore wind foundations, floating and bottom-fix. Includes driven piles, drilled piles, monopiles, spud-cans, suction caissons, drag anchors, gravity bases, etc. Experience in cable routing, Cable Burial Risk Assessment (CBRA) studies and subsea trenching equipment selection. Experience with landfall design including open and HDD solutions. Programming skills preferably in Matlab or Python will be a benefit. Experience in project management, with an understanding of technical interfaces and project finance management. Fluent, in written and spoken, Spanish and English when interfacing with various disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and virtually. Candidates must have experience with foundation design to API, DNV & ISO standards. Other Skills Leadership skills.
