Offshore Rig Radio Operator

Communicating : Sending and receiving radio and telephone messages, and communicating with other operators to exchange instructions


Operating equipment : Installing, operating, and monitoring radio equipment, including sound-recording equipment


Monitoring : Monitoring emergency frequencies and responding to distress calls


Maintaining equipment : Cleaning, repairing, and storing equipment, and testing it to ensure it's working properly


Documenting : Recording radio and phone traffic, and recording signals for analysis


Dispatching : Dispatching emergency personnel


Broadcasting : Broadcasting weather reports and traffic conditions


Interpreting : Interpreting coded messages and emergency signals


Locating : Using direction-finding equipment to determine the source of signals

Requirements:


Must be a US or authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
