
Offshore Substation Expert - Mechanical Equipment & Utilities H/F
Role Definition Pre-Consultation Phase:Updating and Improving Specifications: The expert will be involved in the continuous updating and enhancement of the Employer Requirement Specifications (ERS) for RTE’s HVAC and HVDC offshore substations. This includes technical coordination with various CNER teams (Cables Department, Control & Protection Department) and other RTE entities such as Project Execution (DIIREM), IT systems (DSIT), and Operations (DEXPL).Tender Deliverables: Contributing to the preparation and review of technical documents for tenders, ensuring that all technical aspects are thoroughly covered.EPCIC and O&M Phases:Tendering and Bid Evaluation: The expert will be responsible for analyzing and rating the technical bids submitted by EPCIC and O&M contractors, contributing to the overall bid evaluation process with other RTE entities.EPCIC Execution Support: During the EPCIC execution phases, the expert will oversee and analyze the technical deliverables from contractors. This includes everything from the basic design to engineering, construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up of the offshore substations. The expert will ensure compliance with the specifications and provide technical expertise for problem-solving during these phases.O&M Phases: Providing support to the O&M teams during both the preparation and execution phases. This will involve ensuring that the offshore substations are maintained effectively and that the O&M strategies are well-implemented.Asset Management & Maintenance:Support for O&M Strategies: The expert will help develop and implement asset management strategies for offshore substations, ensuring that these strategies align with RTE’s objectives. This includes preparing O&M contracts for offshore substations.Cross-Department Coordination:The expert will work closely with other departments, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring the smooth execution of the projects. They will also be responsible for meeting coordination, reporting, and ensuring proper follow-up with various teams involved in the project.Deliverables & Project Management:The expert will manage several key deliverables, including:Coordination and ownership of technical specifications and scope of work.Ensuring technical evaluations are carried out effectively.Managing project follow-ups through systems such as Aconex and CRS.Ensuring effective coordination with other departments and preparing detailed reports.Contributing to the overall management of the EPCIC and O&M phases. Qualification Expertise in mechanical equipment and utilities for offshore substations (HVAC or HVDC).10+ years of experience in EPCIC or O&M for offshore substations.Proven track record in offshore substation projects (Client side, EPCIC contractors, OEM suppliers, or O&M).Team-oriented and strong communication skills.English fluency (French is a plus).Occasional travel to offshore sites and construction meetings. Conditions This position is based at the RTE headquarters in La Défense, Paris, on a resident basis. However, there is flexibility for remote working (e.g., 2 days per week). Occasional travel will be required to visit offshore construction sites, yards, or other companies involved in the projects (engineering firms, other TSOs, etc.).
