Since assuming the responsibility of managing and operating the airport in , BAC has cemented BIA’s reputation as an attractive hub for airlines and passengers.Key Responsibilities:Ensures that equipment is properly designed, selected, and installed based on a life-cycle philosophy: Collect maintenance cost data.Promotes equipment standardization: Ensure that the company purchase standardized equipment so as to reduce the number of spare parts required and the amount of training necessary. It also reduces the overall maintenance budget.Makes cost-benefit reviews of the maintenance programs: Periodically reviews maintenance programs and determines whether the work should be performed by operators, maintenance craft workers, or outside contractors. In addition, reviews what work needs to be done, what work can be eliminated, and what new work needs to be identified and added to the maintenance plan.Provides technical guidance for the preventive and predictive maintenance programs: Periodically reviews the preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure the proper tools and technologies are being applied. Develops standards for major maintenance overhauls and outages: Responsible for examining outage and overhaul plans for completeness and accuracy. Makes appropriate recommendations to the planner for adjustments in the plans or schedules.Responsible for analyzing equipment operating data: Ensures that equipment is operating as close to design parameters as possible. This ensures that there is no wasted production from less-than-optimal equipment capacity.Ensures that equipment is performing effectively and efficiently: Ensuring that the equipment, when it is running, is at design speed and capacity.Establishes and monitors programs for critical equipment analysis and condition monitoring techniques: Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate monitoring techniques are used for determining equipment conditions. This information is then given to the planner so that effective overhaul schedules can be determined. These techniques should also help eliminate unplanned maintenance downtime.Reviews deficiencies noted during corrective maintenance: Periodically reviews equipment maintenance records. If observe continual problems with equipment, and the problems are not with the preventive or predictive maintenance programs, then will be responsible for finding solutions to the problems. Optimizes maintenance strategies: Responsible for examining maintenance strategies and ensuring that they all are cost effective.Monitors shop qualifications and quality standards for outside contractors: Responsible for ensuring that all outside contractors are qualified and that the work performed by the contractors is of the proper quality.Monitors the industry’s activities in maintenance management: Responsible for gathering information about best practice maintenance programs.Monitors new tools and technology: Responsible for staying abreast of all the tools and technology that are available in the maintenance marketplace.Provides technical guidance for CMMS: Reviews the data in the CMMS. Makes recommendations about the types of data and the amount of data being collected. Recommend problem, cause, and action codes for properly tracking maintenance activities.Consults with Maintenance Technicians on technical problems: Consults at a technical level with Maintenance Technicians concerning equipment or work-related problems. May be about advanced troubleshooting or even equipment redesigns.Maintains and advises on the use and disposition of stock items, surplus items, and rental equipment: Reviews spare parts policies for plant equipment. This review is to ensure that the right parts are in stock—in the right amounts.Required skills:Minimum Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering / Science in Electrical Engineering CRPEP accredited.Minimum Experience: Minimum 7 years hands on field experience in electrical maintenance, operation and project implementation and supervision.For Bahraini nationals only.
