We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Facility Manager to oversee the daily operations of our propane distribution and storage facilities. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth and efficient running of our facility, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing inventory, and coordinating staff activities. This position requires a strong understanding of the propane industry, as well as excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:


Facility Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of propane distribution and storage facilities, including tanks, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure facilities are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding propane storage, handling, and safety.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and security to create a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.

Staff Supervision and Training:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage facility personnel, including operations staff, technicians, and support teams.
  • Develop and implement staff training programs, focusing on safety, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Schedule and supervise workforce to ensure efficient operation of the facility.
  • Provide performance feedback, conduct regular performance evaluations, and promote employee development.

Inventory and Equipment Management:

  • Manage propane inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and reduce waste or shortage.
  • Oversee maintenance and servicing of all propane storage tanks, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of propane deliveries, usage, and storage.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment, maintenance, and replenishment of propane supplies.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce and adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines specific to propane facilities.
  • Investigate and resolve any incidents or safety hazards and take proactive steps to prevent accidents.
  • Ensure all personnel are equipped with and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Prepare for and manage safety drills and emergency response training to handle any potential propane-related emergencies.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Assist in the development and management of facility budgets, focusing on operational costs, maintenance, and staffing.
  • Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising safety or efficiency.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Collaborate with the corporate operations team to align facility goals with company objectives.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including local authorities, regulatory bodies, and emergency services.
  • Maintain clear communication channels with all departments to ensure smooth operations and timely problem resolution.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on facility operations, safety compliance, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for enhancing facility operations.

Requirements:

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field .
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the propane or energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of propane storage, handling, and safety regulations (DOT, OSHA, NFPA).
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing teams in an industrial or operational setting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of facility maintenance, inventory management, and equipment management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with facility management software or ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies or urgent situations, with a calm and organized approach.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to work in a facility environment, including exposure to propane, hazardous materials, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasional lifting, bending, and walking around the facility.
  • Ability to work extended hours or on-call, as needed, in case of emergencies or operational demands.
