Operations Manager

Job Description

Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a background in food manufacturing? If so, we are working with an excellent business in South Lanarkshire.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be passionate about leading and developing people and be driven to achieve results. Previous experience of working in the food processing/manufacturing industry is desirable and you will be experienced in leading people effectively.

In this busy and varied role, you will be a vital part of the Operations Team reporting to the Site Lead.

Duties

  • You will be creating an empowering culture to build a high performing team and you will manage, develop and lead your team through all aspects of operation, competence and development.
  • Delivering against core people metrics, including absence management, performance management, retention and agency usage is imperative.
  • Strong leadership of the Area Managers will help to ensure shared responsibility for delivering all KPI’s and targets.
  • You will ensure your team produce consistent product quality that complies with company standards and exceeds customer expectation.
  • ou will also own and review the area organisation structure and headcount standards, ensuring appropriate succession plans, recruitment and development plans are in place.
  • You will take a continuous improvement approach with employee engagement being part of the unit plans.
  • Meet all applicable corporate and legal standards such as safety, quality, hygiene, environment and security.

Experience required.

  • Experienced in leading people effectively.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading high performing and engaged teams.
  • Exposure to continuous and batch process FMCG environment.
  • Can demonstrate a sound understanding of the manufacturing processes.
  • Previous experience of Supermarket multiples.
  • Numerate with ability to understand how to make improvements which influence company profitability.
  • Understanding of P&L to gross margin level.
  • Educated to at least HND or equivalent in a Business subject.
