Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Operations Manager provides leadership and manages the production and warehouse team in a 24/7 operating environment. The role’s primary responsibility is the safe, efficient, and quality execution of the production schedule as well as daily inbound, outbound and warehouse transfer shipments. Compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards falls under the responsibility of the Operations Manager, as well as ensuring plant operation within the outlined operating expense budget. In addition, the function includes but is not limited to managing, coaching, and developing employees/ team, ensuring adherence to internal processes and procedures as well as continuous improvement of plant processes. The position reports to the Head of Plant Operations. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESØ Manage Plant Manufacturing processes and Shipping/ Warehouse processes to ensure consistent manufacturing of first quality product as well as effective, efficient execution of the daily Shipping and Receiving schedules in a safe work environment.Ø Ensure that all production and warehouse employees strive to meet the standards set forth by the company for Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Housekeeping.Ø Hire and provide consistent training for employees and manage personnel issues relating to attendance, vacation scheduling, and disciplinary action.Ø Properly staff all departments within the function’s scope of responsibility to efficiently meet Production and Shipping/ Receiving schedule requirements.Ø Facilitate continuous improvement activities in the production and warehouse operations.Ø Lead the Shift Supervisors, Production Engineer, and Warehouse ManagerØ Coordinate Production and Shipping/ Receiving schedules with the Supply Chain team to ensure customer orders are met on time and in quality.Ø Coordinate required service times with Maintenance to maintain all equipment at a safe and optimum performance.Ø Collaborate with Technical Service & Quality Manager in identifying quality issues andØ This job description is subject to change at any time.Ø conduct root cause analysis.Ø Monitor work, alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions, control flow of work to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools, and equipment.Ø Provide prompt problem solving for key issues, by root cause identification, containment, and issue resolution to ensure recurrence is avoided.Ø Continuously develop and advance employee training program, paired with consistent training of all production and warehouse team membersØ Managing, motivating, and developing employees.Ø Develop , track key KPIs for Plant operations.Ø Ensure manufacturing systems comply with ISO certification requirements.Ø Operational expertise developed and maintained.Ø Responsiveness to customers - both internal and externalØ QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTSv Bachelor in Engineering (preferably Chemical/ Petrochemical Engineering) or Chemistry with more than 5 years of chemical plant manufacturing experience in a Management positionv Awareness and knowledge of Process Safety Management in chemical plant operations is required.v Knowledge of chemistry, chemical process techniques, and basic mechanical equipment operation is required.v Knowledge of batch manufacturing process, utilities in a chemical plantv Strong communication, organization, supervisory, and leadership skillsv Demonstrated ability to successfully drive significant change in an organization.v Process control (PLC), Data analysis is .v Multi-functional experience in Manufacturing, Technical, and Business areas is .v Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous improvement exposure or training is .v Background in operations, maintenance, basic tools, and equipment is .v Process design knowledge of equipment is .v Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team playerv Excellent time management with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
