Quoting - Using engineering drawings, estimate pricing for manufacturing customer parts and assemblies by calculating material, labor, and outside processing costs. Engage in conversations with customer procurement, engineering, quality representatives at a professional level via phone, email, NetMeeting or in person. Serve as the contact for all procurement activities.

Order Acceptance - Review all customer orders and resolve any open issues engaging in conversations with customer procurement, engineering, quality representatives at a professional level via phone, email, NetMeeting or in person when required. Acknowledge accepted orders and approve for processing. Perform Risk assessment and assign risk mitigation when necessary.

Process Engineering - Complete process sheets (travelers) detailing process steps, materials procured for the order, quality notes and any other communications necessary to complete the order and fulfill customer requirements. The Operations Manager is to support processing activities occurring on the production floor, to provide technical support, and to provide guidance when problems arise or when additional information is required.

Manage Outside Service Vendors — Select the appropriate outside vendors required to perform special processes for customer products, ensuring compliance with all customer requirements and industry standards. Work with PMW customers, outside service vendors, and PMW management team to resolve any problems or concerns. Ensure that customer requirements are being accurately communicated to outside service providers and maintain PMW's approved supplier listing.

Material Procurement — Responsible for the procurement of raw material and components required for customer orders, ensuring compliance with all customer requirements and industry standards. Review all certifications to validate compliance and maintain PMW's raw material supplier listing.

Product Acceptance Activities —When customer orders are ready for shipment, compile and review the document package that will be sent to the customer with the shipment of the product, and when required submit the package via the customer portal.

Management Review — Review monthly reports, monitor PMW KPls and take or recommend actions were required. Work with management team to establish goals and objectives, and to monitor and improve processes and process interactions. Manage and record the annual management review report to ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements.

An Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a business, optimizing processes, managing resources, ensuring quality control, developing strategies, and leading teams to achieve organizational goals, often by analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to maximize efficiency and profitability.

     Process Management:

Analyzing and streamlining operational processes to identify and implement improvements, including workflow optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancements.

     Resource Allocation:

Managing and allocating personnel, equipment, and budget effectively to support operational needs.

     Quality Control:

Implementing and monitoring quality standards across all operations to ensure consistent product or service quality.

     Performance Monitoring:

Tracking key performance indicators (KPls) to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.

 Team Leadership:

Leading and motivating operational teams, assigning tasks, providing coaching and development opportunities.

     Staffing and Training:

Hiring, onboarding, and training new employees to maintain operational efficiency.

Problem Solving:

Identifying and resolving operational challenges and issues promptly.

     Budgeting and Forecasting:

Developing and managing operational budgets, forecasting future needs, and ensuring cost control.

     Compliance Management:

Ensuring adherence to all relevant industry regulations and safety standards

Required Skills:

     Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions based on insights

     Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams towards achieving goals

     Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams

     Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain order in a fast-paced environment

     Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions

     Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting

Depending on the industry and company size, an Operations Manager may also be responsible for:

     Inventory management

     Supply chain management

     Production planning and scheduling

     Project management

     Customer service oversight

Continuous improvement initiatives
