POSITION TITLE: Operations Manager - Soft Craft Services

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary + DOE

BENEFITS: Standard package

LOCATION: Baltimore, MD

SUMMARY:The Project Manager providing full project management services including, generating estimates and proposals, solicits contracts from potential customers, planning/scheduling, material procurement, cost tracking, labor analysis, change order management, HSE oversight, etc

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Project Manager performs planning/scheduling, material coordination, timekeeping, job costing, cost reporting, labor analysis data collection, and customer interface duties on project jobsites
  • Solicits, manages, and directs multidiscipline engineering activities and ensures industrial projects are executed in a safe, efficient, profitable, and timely manner through satisfactory performance of crews and construction services
  • Reviews, investigates, and evaluates potential customer accounts to identify opportunities which are consistent with marketing objectives
  • Works closely with business development, refractory service line leads, and SMEs to generate new business and provide best value-added solutions to existing and new clients
  • Visits prospective job sites to determine and evaluate extent of work, job site conditions, and develop other pertinent information prior to bid submission
  • Performs engineering calculations i.e., heat transfer, stress analysis, material selection for design of refractory and acid proof linings, material selection for fireproofing systems, material, and equipment selection for mechanical systems
  • Collects all job costing data (materials, labor, equipment, subcontracts) and prepares job cost reports as required by the project
  • Prepares bills of material and equipment for pricing and/or purchase and submits to buyer
  • Discusses pricing, scheduling, delivery dates, and expediting with buyer
  • Assists in the project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process by inspecting fabricated items and/or work performed and verifying compliance with the project drawings and specifications.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of applicable industrial construction industry experience
  • Refractory, fireproofing, scaffolding and insulation skills knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree - Engineering, construction management, industrial technology,
  • Knowing and understanding site visits, job walks, meeting with customers.
  • Sales calls
  • CAD knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results through others
  • Technical skills in engineering management, quality assurance, and costing
  • Planning/Management: able to handle several projects concurrently and ensure that each is progressing as required
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
