Position Overview:
SkyHop Global is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee transportation operations across the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland International Airport (OAK), and San Jose International Airport (SJC). Based in Burlingame, CA, this leadership position requires a hands-on, results-driven operator who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have strong operational expertise and an ability to engage with and motivate a diverse team, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 85-90 drivers across multiple airport locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Ensure that each team member is supported and engaged for maximum operational efficiency.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure seamless, safe, and on-time transportation services for airline crew members. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly while maintaining SkyHop Global’s high service standards.
- Driver Engagement and Development: Provide hands-on support to drivers, assist in scheduling, and implement performance management practices to drive consistent service quality and morale.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to all company policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations (including DOT). Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure vehicle and driver compliance.
- Customer Service Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for airline partners, proactively addressing issues and ensuring the highest level of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Problem-Solving and Reporting: Analyze performance data and key metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, resolve issues quickly, and report on operational performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field, with a track record of managing large, diverse teams.
- Leadership: A hands-on, proactive leader who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes full ownership of operations.
- Operational Skills: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities to manage operations across multiple locations.
- Communication: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees, airline partners, and senior management.
- Safety Knowledge: Solid understanding of DOT regulations, transportation safety protocols, and industry best practices.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational demands.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with office tools and technology for scheduling, reporting, and performance tracking.
Experience:
- Prior leadership experience in the airline, transportation, or logistics industry, with a focus on operations or fleet management.
- Experience managing a workforce of 50+ employees in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
