We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Des Moines. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for managing routes, events, and deliveries. With an established and long-term customer base, you will have the autonomy to drive growth and innovation in the Des Moines market. What you will do:
- Collaborate with the sales team using the ERP system to coordinate the schedules, ensuring on-time servicing and delivery with efficient use of equipment and human talent
- Set and hold each supervisor and their direct reports accountable for appropriate performance, quality, and safety expectations
- Perform emergency route services and delivery work when staff are not available
- Manage safety policies by promoting a safe work environment
- Directly and through subordinate supervisors, Identify, interview, select, and oversee training of new route drivers and service staff
- Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Identify and execute process improvement projects
What you will need to be successful:
- Prior leadership experience in the construction or manufacturing field
- Experience with ERP systems, establishing delivery dates, route distribution, and client communication
- Willingness to step in with hands-on work when needed
- Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills and high attention to detail and accuracy 5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
