Job Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee a team of 30 employees across various departments. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring production targets are met, and fostering a positive and productive working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, experience with heavy materials, and a good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage a workforce of 30 employees across multiple departments.
* Communicate effectively with department heads to understand and balance workloads.
* Organize staff to meet production demands and ensure high productivity levels are maintained.
* Monitor daily targets and promptly address any issues affecting production.
* Ensure accurate paperwork and documentation for loads, cross-checking and reporting any discrepancies to sales or directors.
* Coordinate with maintenance engineers to handle machine breakdowns and schedule necessary repairs or servicing.
* Liaise regularly with the logistics department and sales team to keep operations smooth.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Motivate and guide staff, managing time-off requests and ensuring adherence to company policies.
* Foster effective communication between departments to streamline processes.
* Ensure health and safety regulations are met in the workplace.
* Assist with recruitment, training, and induction of new staff.
* Regularly meet with HR to discuss staff performance and handle any employee issues.
* Provide regular updates to directors on workload, staff, and any necessary department changes or improvements.
* Manage production departments such as unpacking, loading, polishing, sandblasting, and artistry.

Hours of Work:
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
* Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
* Occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs
