Building & Construction OH & S Sydney Permanent / Full Time Premier Diverse - Building Head contractor Responsible for operational leadership of NSW/ACT regions Reporting to National General Manager About the Role - Operations Safety Manager  - NSW/ACT Reporting to the National General Manager of People and HSE. Building your role will support the implementation of the Business Unit Health, Safety & Environment Systems strategies and program to support the ongoing development of an effective culture for HSE and business improvement, and to ensure adherence to all government laws, regulations and company or industry HSE standards and guidelines.  Provide operational HSE direction and support across the region NSW/ACT.  Responsibilities  ­Provide technical direction and support Leadership team and projects to develop and implement an effective culture that is focused on HSE and driving business improvement ­Support the implementation of HSE strategies, systems and initiatives across the region and report progress to regional and Group leadership teams ­Develop and deliver HSE education, as well as compliance and improvement programs for employees, clients, contractors and visitors ­Collaborate with peers to ensure the consistency and continuous improvement of HSE management systems and practices across the company ­Oversee rehabilitation and return to work activities ­Ensure that the region maintains robust HSE risk management processes, capability, focus and discipline ­Oversee and govern the accuracy and quality of investigations for all Class 1 & 2 incidents, including actions to prevent future occurrences ­Provide governance over the company HSE systems implementation effectiveness within the region and provide reports to region leadership on HSE systems health and effectiveness ­Provide specialist HSE advice and input to business unit during tendering, project planning and project delivery. ­Ensure comprehensive records are maintained, manage company and statutory HSE reporting requirements, and provide analysis to drive focus and continuous improvement ­As a BU representative, provide input and support broader business wide HSC Initiatives ­Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legal, regulatory and company requirements associated with HSE; ensuring management and staff are informed of any relevant changes and their impacts ­Communicate HSE matters, as well as opportunities for delivering improvement to management and staff as appropriate ­Review specific high-risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work. ­Perform all duties in accordance with JH policies, processes, systems and procedures Qualifications & Experience Requirements  ­Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Science, Safety, Environment Management, Sustainability and/or other associated disciplines ­Post graduate qualifications in relevant other disciplines such as Safety, Environment, Project Management or Risk ­Safety Lead Auditor Qualification, Internal Environmental Auditor Qualification, Diploma of Quality Auditing ­HSE Practitioner (7+ years) in Construction and/or heavy industry and high risk workplaces, Engineering or other associated functional areas ­Generalist Quality Management (5 years) including experience on a major project ­Knowledge and application of Audit Management practices ­Audit Management Practices ­Project System implementation ­Supporting stakeholders groups within the Region, Business Units and project teams, e.g. Frontline employees, first line managers and middle managers ­Skills in monitoring, reviewing, investigative review techniques, reporting and continuous improvement on performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance ­Safety and Environmental Management Systems, Quality Management Systems and AZ/NZS 1sO 9001   Like the sound of all this?
