OPERATIONS SUPPORT MANAGER
Position Summary:
We have an immediate opening for an Operations Support Manager to provide technical support (mechanical, electrical and control systems) for our production machinery, including but not limited to pipe machines, concrete batching and mixing plants, concrete transportation systems and cage machines throughout the Rinker Materials concrete pipe and precast plants. The position requires the right candidate to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and controls related problems and assist plants with obtaining repair parts.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of reported issues, resolves problems with appropriate methods, tools, and parts to achieve long lasting solution, avoids shortcuts and “band-aids”. Good work ethic, topped with Rinker safety culture. You don’t hesitate to have your own “hands on” when needed.
- Provides online support via TeamViewer remote control utility to batching and mixing plants that has the TeamViewer capability.
- Develops production machinery maintenance programs in cooperation with Director of Operations Support.
- Conduct, batch, and mix plant inspections and prepare written reports with corrective action plan for each inspection visit.
- Conducts thermography inspections and prepares written reports with corrective action plans for each inspection visit.
- Work closely with plant management to ensure execution of maintenance programs and CAP generated from B&M plant as well as thermography inspections. Qualifications:
- 6+ years’ experience in maintenance functions in manufactured concrete products industry required. • Mechanical and electrical experience.
- PLC troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to present oneself and communicate in a professional, positive, and courteous manner with managing internal and external relationships.
- Strong knowledge of production management in the concrete industry or equivalent.
- Precast concrete manufacturing experience preferred. • Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure.
- Requires specific knowledge in a manufacturing or technical field.
- Must be able to work hours beyond the normal workday as required by the business cycle, customer volume of business. It has a moderate demand for tight deadlines.
- Emotional Intelligence – Individual must be self-aware, have strong interpersonal skills, is adaptable, and able to collaborate with all levels from production employees to management level.
Results Oriented – Has sound planning skills, knows how to execute respective action plans, and regularly meets or exceeds target in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction, develop and lead a team, provide strategic direction, and inspire the team to achieve key goals in a timely and costeffective manner. Ability to apply problem solving techniques.
- Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
- Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems.
- Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- Proactive problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to apply effective time management and self-management skills.
- Possess a thorough, organized and detail-oriented approach to work. Has sound planning skills, knows how to execute against respective action plans.
- Must have a valid drivers’ license and ability to travel 50 percent of the time to other locations and/or meetings
