Orbital Welder

The Orbital Welder will be responsible for manufacturing weldments via butt-welding in a Class 100 cleanroom environment. They will be responsible for maintaining station/equipment cleanliness and ensuring welds meet specific quality requirements.
Report all activities in responsible area to Production Supervisor as required.
Responsibilities:
- Operates and maintains equipment and tooling relative to the operation of orbital welding.
- Performs orbital welding of gas lines ranging from ¼” to ½” diameter.
- Ensure weldments are built to specification based on the blueprint.
- Perform small adjustments to weldments utilizing hand tools.
- Performs daily, routine, and preventative maintenance/inspection on welding equipment.
- Follows all safety rules and procedures.
- Present a positive and respectful professional image towards customers and co-workers and make decisions based on company policies and processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience and Skills:
- Solid mechanical skills and a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of common hand tools and power tools; ability to identify common hardware and build to complex instructions.
- Mechanically inclined with a fair level of dexterity to construct simple to complex assemblies or parts.
- Ability to read and interpret written information and blueprints.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality focused.
- Strong computer skills.
- Knowledge of high vacuum systems a plus.
- Related butt-welding experience .
- Previous Orbital Welding experience required.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some technician coursework and/or AA technical degree/equivalent

This job requires an employee to be exposed to a typical production and office environment throughout the day.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable.
- Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals.
- May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.
Noise Level:
The noise level can vary from moderate to low similar to production and office environment.
