Astute's Power team is partnered with a leading Energy company, who operate several Energy from Waste Power (EfW) Stations across the UK, to recruit for an Outage Engineer to join their EfW in Runcorn, Cheshire.
The vital Outage Engineer role comes with a salary of £55,614 + up to 10% Bonus + Benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:
Coordinating, scheduling, and plan maintenance activities during planned and unplanned shutdowns of the plant
Create engineering plans for all maintenance outages, ensuring all stock items are available along with the correct resources.
Create detailed scopes of work and engineering specifications ready to be sent out for tender.
Manage statutory inspections ensuring all documentation is completed and up to date.

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
A minimum HNC (or equivalent) qualification in relevant engineering discipline
Ideally a formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH (or equivalent)
Personal skills, knowledge and experience:
The Outage Engineer role would suit someone who has:
Prior experience delivering outages in a heavy process engineering environment such as Power (Energy from Waste, Biomass, Coal, CCGT, CHP, etc), Refineries, COMAH Sites, Steel, Paper Mills, ets
Knowledge of PSSR regulations
Prior knowledge of steam turbine maintenance and support
Experience in managing contractors on site
Experience working with CMMS systems
Willingness to work extra hours during times of outages
