Brooks Kushman, a nationally ranked full-service intellectual property firm, is seeking an attorney/agent/technical specialist to join our patent prosecution team. The candidate can work remotely or in our Royal Oak, MI or Los Angeles, CA offices.
The attorney/agent/technical specialist will be primarily involved in all aspects of the firm's patent rafting, and prosecution practice, and will have the opportunity to get involved in reexaminations, opinions and due diligence work. The candidate will work in a team-based environment with several other attorneys on developing patent portfolios for the firm’s clients.

Responsibilities: Preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications, review complicated technical inventions, evaluating patent portfolios and developing patent strategies.
Requirements: The ideal candidates will have a strong background in electrical engineering or computer engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience with patent law. A bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science is . An advanced degree in either of the referenced degrees is a plus. Experience with Artificial Intelligence related inventions is also a plus. Attorney/agent candidates must be registered. Technical specialists must be patent bar eligible.
Candidates must also have excellent academic credentials, good analytical skills, strong written and oral communications skills, ability to work well in a team-based environment, prioritize workflow, meet deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
