The following position is open: Payload Systems Engineer
At Custom Microwave Inc., A Vitesse Company, we design, engineer, and manufacture world class antenna solutions for satellite applications. Helping our customers put stuff in space is our specialty, and we have a blast doing it. Which is where you come in: We have an opening for an out-of-this-world Payload Systems Engineer to design and model our satellite communication payloads. You will with closely with many other engineers, including but not limited to RF, mechanical, and test, to design the best possible solution for customers. What You’ll Do (Essential Job Functions):
- Lead architectural trade studies, establishing system and unit level requirements both analytically and through simulation.
- Collaborate with technical design teams to achieve project objectives.
- Lead proper allocation, traceability, and verification of requirements at all levels through the lifecycle of the program.
- Support requirements verification and Integration and Test (I&T) activities.
- Lead preparations and delivery for design gate reviews.
- Collaborate with cross functional subject matter experts to develop the necessary requirements allocation, analysis, and verification artifacts.
- Support continual product development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring (Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Experience with antenna designs in harsh environments (aerospace, defense, military applications).
- Strong technical communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong fundamentals in “signals and systems” and digital communications.
- Familiar with hardware components and their associated impairments / limitations.
- Ability to learn new tools and workflows.
- Passion for contributing to an innovative and rapidly evolving work environment.
Your Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
- MSEE in related field desired, but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent to comply with ITAR requirements.
- Ability to pass a drug screen per Custom Microwave, Inc.’s drug testing policy.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check per Custom Microwave, Inc.’s policy.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
The manufacturing facility is more than 56,000 square feet. Workers may be exposed to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request.
Job Information:
This is a full-time, permanent position. This position is eligible for the employer-sponsored benefits listed under "CMi is Proud to Offer." This position is considered exempt and is ineligible for overtime pay.
Pay range: $120,000-$160,000 based on qualifications and experience.
