Job Overview:

A prominent Oil & Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Petroleum Operations Rules & Procedures Specialist to join their team for a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit offshore in West Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing operational rules and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimize the performance of petroleum operations on the FPSO.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of Operational Procedures:
    • Design, develop, and implement detailed operational procedures and guidelines tailored to FPSO operations.
    • Ensure that all procedures align with company standards, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Monitor adherence to established rules and procedures, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
    • Identify gaps in current procedures and implement corrective actions to address non-compliance issues.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead initiatives to continuously improve operational efficiency by updating and refining procedures.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure all operations are up to date with current standards.
  • Training and Support:
    • Provide training and support to FPSO personnel on the correct implementation of operational procedures.
    • Act as a point of contact for any questions or clarifications regarding operational rules and procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all operational procedures, updates, and audits.
    • Prepare detailed reports for management on the status of operational compliance and procedure implementation.
  • Risk Management:
    • Conduct risk assessments related to petroleum operations, ensuring that all procedures mitigate potential risks.
    • Collaborate with safety and operational teams to integrate risk management into daily operations.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in petroleum operations, with at least 5 years specializing in rules and procedures within the oil and gas industry.
    • Previous experience working on an FPSO or offshore platform is required.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of petroleum operations, including drilling, production, and processing.
    • Expertise in developing and implementing operational procedures and ensuring compliance.
    • Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ISO, and other relevant regulations.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications in petroleum operations, process safety, and quality management.
    • Offshore safety training certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) are preferred.
