Overview:


The Pipeline Project Engineer II will join a Pipeline Project Team to engage in major natural gas pipeline integrity, retrofits, pipeline replacement, and pipeline hydrotest transmission projects and planning distribution work.





Responsibilities:


 





Lead and execute various job responsibilities involved in a gas utility pipeline project.





Actively participate in the development of project scope, cost, and schedule.





Conduct early technical scope development.





Work with internal and external project team and stakeholders for all project related duties.





Perform record research and information gathering at various client sites and offices.





Complete engineering deliverables in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.





Lead and coordinate engineering design development for projects.





Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.





Review design drawings for constructability, design and accuracy at preliminary, 30%, 60%, 90% and 95% design levels.





Evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases.





Work with the Project Manager to select special design options.





Review and redline design drawings produced by others.





Lead client meetings with stakeholders and vendors.





Keep track of project schedules to ensure project is executed in a timely manner.





Direct integration of technical activities and products.





Ensure all work is completed in a safe, efficient, and complete manner.





Develop and participate in risk mitigation efforts associated with a project.





Qualifications:


Basic Qualifications





Gas industry experience required.





Planning distribution work experience required.





Minimum a BS Degree in an accredited Engineering University or an equivalent relevant field experience.





5-8+ years of relevant full time engineering experience.





Possession of a valid and active Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in a relevant field in any US state (CA ), or an ability to obtain CA PE license required.





Knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD.





Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.





Ability to develop and update technical documents; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.





Excellent written and verbal communication skills.





Excellent problem-solving skills and logical decision-making ability.





Ability to write routine reports and correspondences in a professional manner.





Coachable engineer, eager to learn with self-motivation.





Plan, direct and review the work of staff engineers.





Ability and willingness to provide support and training to staff engineers.





Qualifications





Have working knowledge in CFR 49 Parts 191, 192 and 195.





Have familiarity with ASME/ANSI B314 and B31.8 codes and regulations.





Possess advanced working knowledge of SAP and Citrix.





Field Engineering/Construction experience .





Experience in consulting (or EPC with Design & Engineering capability) is .





Experience working with utilities in the State of California is .

Wage Data Per State Requirements:


Salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000.  The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
