Piping Designer

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is looking for a Piping Designer to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Perform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, develop detailed scopes. 

  • Work from P&ID's, client specifications and vendor data to design complex piping systems for chemical facility. 

  • Create isometrics, pipe supports   

  • Ensures that completed design is functional, maintainable and designed with safety and that all applicable codes have been followed and maintain 

  • Interface with other disciplines 

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in the design and layout of process piping and equipment with 1-3 years of experience .

  • Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation, E3D or PDMS is

  • Must have extensive fieldwork experience in chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environments

  • Some work may require working at heights above 6 feet, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and man-lifts
