We are currently searching for a motivated Planner to support our Southeast Region in Tampa, FL.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborate with team to complete bike ped feasibility studies and master plans, long range transportation plans, capital improvement planning & prioritization, grant applications, resiliency plans, public involvement, documenting existing conditions, assisting in PD&E studies
- Write and design transportation technical reports
- Collect and organize mapping data
- Writing and research
- Analyzing information related to transportation
What you need to have:
- B.S. or B.A. degree related to Urban/City/Regional Planning, Urban Geography, Civil Engineering, or related planning field
- 1 - 3 years of transportation planning experience
- AICP is but not required
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro is
- Ability to analyze large datasets, such as socioeconomic data, travel demand data, and vulnerability data and present the data in a way that tells a cohesive story
- Experience developing presentations/power point that tell a story
- Basic understanding of graphic design, layout design, and theory is a plus
- Strong understanding of the transportation planning and MPO process
- Experience with, or willingness to learn, Adobe Creative Cloud apps such as Adobe Illustrator is a plus
- Experience and ability to grow working as a team
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
- Valid driver’s license.
- A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
