Purpose Of The Role
As a Planner / Senior Planner at Our Client, you'll play a pivotal role in there team. Your responsibility will be to lead the planning and programming activities in the pre-construction phase, enhancing our ability to secure projects and maintain project controls and reporting.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the development of planning and programming activities in the pre-construction team.
- Ensure project delivery programs are developed and contractually compliant.
- Progress programs regularly to identify divergences early and take prompt action to mitigate delays or protect entitlement.
- Liaise closely with project teams, clients, and supply chain partners as necessary.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Produce tender stage programs to support competitive offers.
- Create, manage, update, and maintain internal reports tracking project progress.
- Collaborate with project teams to update programs based on progress and protect entitlement.
- Ensure project programs are contractually compliant and issued in accordance with contract requirements.
- Assist in handling Compensation Events/Variations and provide planning/programming input.
- Provide program extracts to project teams for delivery and reporting purposes.
- Contribute to discussions on phasing, approach, and methodology of works on-site.
- Review post-contract performance of projects with the project team.
What My Client Is Looking For:
- Have an appropriate industry qualification, e.g., HND or NVQ3.
- Possess over 5 years of experience as a planner, preferably in a civil engineering environment.
- Be proficient in relevant IT tools (ASTA Powerproject mandatory, Primavera P6 preferred, Microsoft Project).
- Understand NEC3/4 Contracts and the importance of program management.
- Demonstrate construction knowledge and the ability to evaluate alternatives.
- Excel in clear and concise communication, both written and verbal.
- Exhibit strong information management skills.
- Be capable of quick information assimilation.
- Possess effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
