Plant Engineer

We are seeking a Plant/Project Engineer to support a growing manufacturing site in Exeter. This role is crucial in ensuring that manufacturing equipment, infrastructure, and facilities are maintained and improved to meet the company’s operational and future growth demands. You will take ownership of equipment installation, process improvement projects, and cost reduction initiatives while supporting maintenance activities and ensuring optimal plant performance.\n\nKey Responsibilities of a Plant Engineer:\nDevelop and execute project plans for equipment installation, machine rearrangement, and facility upgrades.\nSource, specify, and purchase machinery, equipment, and spare parts to support operational improvements.\nSupervise sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and project timelines.\nIdentify and implement cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.\nCarry out plant engineering activities, including fault finding, reliability improvement, and preventive maintenance.\nProvide technical expertise, including data analysis, planning, and execution, to enhance equipment reliability and performance.\nLead the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for plant equipment.\nSupport maintenance teams in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues across the site.What We’re Looking For:\n\nEssential:\n\nHNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering.\nMinimum of one year of experience in a relevant engineering environment.\nStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of reliability issues.\nAbility to write maintenance procedures and improve asset management processes.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with awareness of Microsoft Project.Desirable:\n\nExperience with CAD software for plant layout and design.\nFamiliarity with business systems such as Oracle or MP2.\nExposure to automation technologies and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) analysis.\nMultiskilled experience in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.What’s in It for You?\nCompetitive salary based on experience.\nCareer development opportunities within an expanding manufacturing environment.\nOpportunity to lead exciting engineering projects and process improvement initiatives.\nWork in a collaborative team with a strong focus on innovation and efficiency.Apply Today!\n\nIf you are a Plant/Project Engineer looking for your next challenge, we want to hear from you!
