Plant Engineering - Section Leader
Overview We are seeking a Plant Engineering - Section Leader to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will be leading both SMT and FSS (Fountain Selective Solder) Production resources at Lutron’s new manufacturing facility, drive the installation and validation of new equipment, institutionalize SMT and FSS processes within the facility, find root causes to quality issues and drive their resolutions, own the facility metrics of Efficiency, CPH, Utilization, OEE, Uptime, DPMO, AOIFC, PPM, and Execution Effected due to SMT and FSS. Responsibilities As a uniquely qualified candidate, your main responsibilities will be: • Report and continuously review procedures to improve Efficiency, CPH, Utilization, OEE, Uptime, DPMO, AOIFC, PPM, and Execution Effected due to SMT and FSS. • Troubleshoot and repair processes to the root cause. Then fix the root cause. • Drive continuous improvement within SMT and FSS to improve focusing on quality, utilization, and throughput metrics. • Supervise New Product Introductions (NPIs) and communicate issues found to new product engineering teams. • Create and refinement of convection oven profiles. • Analyze and change Placement libraries and AOI inspection libraries. • Develop SMT and FSS area technicians and operators to improve the area and take care of the people in the area. • Plan, execute, and evaluate all levels of routine on QA & Process audits within SMT and FSS. • Support Corporate SMT and FSS engineering team and management staff. • Improve Lutron SMT and FSS Procedures which govern the assembly processes within all Lutron’s facilities. • Collaborate with the PCB design team to improve part/technology processing capabilities. • Build relationships with all Lutron’s facility SMT and FSS process owners and technical teams. • Review PM procedures executed by Facility Equipment Support to reduce machine downtime. • Review completion of corrective maintenance and assist in development of long-term corrective actions to minimize unplanned downtime. • Assure a high standard of quality in your own work and in the work of your team via good process improvements, world class safety, and smart validation and review practices • Mentor and coach colleagues to expand the effectiveness of those around you • Lead by example. Take a hands-on role in helping the team meet its deliverables. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2 years experience in a people leadership position. Fluent in English and Spanish. Knowledge of SMT and FSS processes preferred. Demonstrable knowledge of implementing lean manufacturing processes.
