Genesis Staffing is currently seeking a Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team at a facility in North Bend, Ohio. This role offers competitive compensation for the successful candidate that has a strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as proficiency in using various tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair.  

Summary 
The Plant Maintenance Engineer will oversee maintenance activities, address issues as they arise, and implement proactive strategies to minimize downtime and enhance overall productivity.  

Responsibilities & Functions 

  • Oversee and manage all maintenance activities to ensure equipment and facilities are operating efficiently. 
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. 
  • Supervise and lead the maintenance team, providing training and guidance to ensure high performance. 
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting production. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address potential issues. 
  • Manage the maintenance budget, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation. 
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive measures. 
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to quickly resolve issues and minimize impact on operations. 
  • Develop strategies for improving maintenance processes and increasing operational efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for parts procurement and service contracts. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 


Skills & Qualifications 

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. 
  • Strong understanding of Change Management 
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a maintenance team. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. 
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office products. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. 
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. 
  • Familiarity with process safety management programs. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements 
  • Valid TWIC card required 
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug tests, including random testing. 
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. 


Education and Experience 

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering . 
  • PMP or PE not required but can be beneficial. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with heavy industrial rotating equipment and pressure vessels, required. 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of project engineering, project management, and/or general plant/industrial experience, required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in turnaround planning, required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of preventative maintenance experience, required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general maintenance coordination, required. 
  • Electrical and instrument maintenance experience, . 
  • Project planning, coordination, and execution experience, . 
  • Participation in or leading root cause analysis for equipment failures, . 
  • Experience in ammonia, nitric acid production and loading, truck loading, anhydrous ammonia, barge unloading, and storage tank operations, . 
  • Plant/facility operational/production experience, required. 
  • Adhering to and enforcing facility standards and industry best practices, required. 
  • Coordination across plant/operation/project/maintenance/engineering/safety functions, required. 


Work Environment & Physical Demands 

  • Work assignment inside an operating plant which requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard. 
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs. 
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations. 
  • Must be able to attend job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an 
  • operating facility in a hot climate. 
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
