PURPOSE
The Machine Maintenance Technician III is to provide production equipment support for all equipment allocated to the factory and assist engineering with production-related projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Adherence to all department work instructions
- Repair and maintain all production equipment, both electrical and mechanical
- Assist engineering as required with special machine-related projects
- Execute machine upgrades, modifications, and complete machine overhauls when required
- Work with CNC and PLC-controlled machines
- Initiate or enhance the preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment
- Calibrate automated testing machines
- Maintain and order repair parts for production equipment consistent with SMC-established procedures
- Application of root-cause analysis for repetitive equipment failures
- Ensure the respective area is compliant with 5S standards
- Maintain a daily log of work in established SMC systems
- Assist in the training of individuals with less experience and tenure on established maintenance standards and practices
- Mentor individuals in less experienced positions to prepare them for movement to higher-level positions
- Project initiation and supervision
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Physical demands require the person to stand regularly, walk, and use hands to handle, lift, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- The person is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They must also be able to hear and talk.
- The work environment will expose an employee to the following elements: noise, heat, cold, dust, oil, grease, and possible heights
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in a technical-related field or equivalent experience
- More than 10 years of prior experience in the Equipment Maintenance field
- Prior experience with CNC and PLC-controlled equipment
- Preventative maintenance skills and calibration experience are required
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Detail oriented
- Effective communicator
This is a day-shift position.
