Overview:
A Pool Service Technician has a solid understanding of routine pool maintenance, chemical use and equipment operation. They work more independently, taking on basic tasks and some troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic pool cleaning tasks to include: empty skimmer, pump, leaf canister and other baskets, brush pool/spa surfaces, skim pool/spa surface and remove large debris from bottom of pool/spa and manually vacuuming pool/spa.
• Test water chemistry and add chemicals as needed based upon PoolBrain and LSI calculator recommendations.
• Backwash sand and DE filters based on filter pressure and pool conditions. Clean single cartridge filters based on filter pressure and pool conditions. Inspect pool equipment for visible wear, leaks or issues.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues (e.g. pumps, heater, timers, salt cells) and perform basic repairs.
• Assist senior technicians with equipment installations and repairs.
• Maintain accurate PoolBrain reporting of weekly service, repairs needed or performed and chemicals used.
• Consistently report issues with water level and troubleshoot auto fill valves/floats when present.
• Consistently and accurately adjust chlorine to maintain optimal levels. To include increasing/decreasing salt cell production as needed and accurately dose trichlor tabs
• Provide basic customer service (explaining simple pool care tips, follow-up/reporting of customer questions, etc.).

Required Skills:

• Basic understanding of pool water chemistry, including the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI).
• Ability to follow instructions, checklists and safety protocols.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Understands how to use the Orenda LSI Calculator and is able to accurately dose chemicals based on PoolBrain and Orenda LSI Calculator recommendations.
• Good communication and ability to work independently.

Experience/Certification:

• 3 months to 1 year of experience in pool maintenance/service.
• Orenda Academy and Four Pillars Orenda Academy Certifications.
