Provide inputs to other departments.Assess model performance against WTG capabilities.Modelling issues analysis.Documentation of activities: design report, validation reports, user manuals.Develop automatization tools so that they can run simulations and create reports automatically.Technical Knowledge:Power System engineering:Transmission and distribution networks.Grid elements: (power transformers, power cables, reactive power compensation devices, protection and distribution of MV grids...)Power electronicsElectrical machinesHarmonics analysisConverter Control engineering:Power electronic converter design and controlControl theory and applicationPower electronic drives, vector current control, Pulse Width ModulationGrid Forming control systemsReal time embedded control and implementationPower System studies:Transient stability (mainly LVRT and OVRT)Electromagnetic transients simulation (EMT)Dynamic studies (response to grid events or changes in power plant set points)Simulation and modeling of control and electrical systems.Small Signal Stability analysis of power systemsSW skills:PSCAD: Very important to have knowledge about the fortran compilers, compatibility issues and encryption techniques.Creation and integration of compiled code (DLLs) into simulation tools allowing advanced features: multirun, multi-instance and snapshot features.Fortran and C programmingMATLAB and SimulinkRSCAD (software package) – Real Time Digital SimulatorWhat you need to make a differenceSimulation & Modeling:Wind turbines, desirable experience with type-3 and type-4 technologies for transient stability studies.Wind power plants; or at least renewable energy power plants in which multiple components needs to be controlled at the same time to match the references or needs at point of common coupling. Renewable systems: mainly wind turbines, but also PV and BESS.Algorithms to control power plants, mainly wind turbines, power converters and/or renewable energy power plants.
