We are seeking a Pressure Vessel Project Engineer to join our Fabrication team in Decatur, AL. The Pressure Vessel Project Engineer is responsible for pressure vessel design, regulatory requirements and manufacturing methods and will play a key role in the design, analysis, and management of pressure vessel projects from concept through completion. Exempt role; Reports to the Fabrication Shop Manager; Develops procedures for performance of variety of duties / performs complex duties within established guidelines. Domestic travel required for this position; up to 25% travel to customer sites.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, its foreign equivalent or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in pressure vessel design, analysis, and project management or a related ocupation.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME Section VIII, API 510, etc.).
- Proficiency in engineering software for design and analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Functional Requirements:
Lead and manage pressure vessel projects from conception to delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, fabrication, and testing teams, to ensure seamless project execution. Perform detailed design and analysis of pressure vessels, considering factors such as material selection, structural integrity, and compliance with relevant codes and standards (ASME, API, etc.). Utilize engineering software and tools to model and simulate pressure vessel performance under various
operating conditions. Stay abreast of industry codes, standards, and regulations related to pressure vessels and ensure project designs comply with all applicable requirements. Work closely with regulatory bodies and third-party inspectors to obtain necessary approvals and certifications. Generate comprehensive engineering documentation, including design specifications, calculations, and technical reports. reate and maintain project documentation to facilitate effective communication within the project team and with clients. Collaborate with clients to understand their project requirements, address concerns, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate project status and address technical queries. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Compensation
Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
