With a strong pipeline of work, our team is growing, we are looking for an experienced HV Design/Primary Engineer continue to grow and shape the success of our Power team. In this Melbourne or Sydney based role you will: Lead the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects from feasibility, concept designs, detail designs and owner’s engineer Develop, mentor and lead junior engineers Lead the primary design of high voltage substations and other related infrastructure Work in collaboration with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports Lead teams of engineers to undertake larger packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff Provide Concept and Detailed design and review of specifications, drawings etc Maintaining expected current design standards as set by legislative requirements. Carrying out quality checks and procedures Draw upon your own technical expertise, and those of the broader team to deliver high-quality technical advice to our client Contribute in a team environment and drive delivery excellence across the Power team Play a supporting role and contribute to strategic bids and tenders in future energy across ANZ and support cross business line activities This exciting opportunity will bring a mix of your technical expertise and your design engineering and project management experience to deliver successful client outcomes. What we’ll like about you You are a confident and capable senior engineer who is looking to be part of a growing team, passionate to work on iconic projects and seeking to enhance your career. Your technical skills are based on solid fundamentals and have been proven through the delivery of robust and innovative power engineering projects and designs. You experience and are comfortable leading teams and mentoring junior engineers. You will also have varied Electrical Engineering skills which will allow you to contribute to the power business in a broader sense. Preferably, you will have proven capability across a range of the following areas: Understanding of a range of engineering disciplines and experience in electricity transmission, distribution and traction power projects. Have experience within substation primary engineering position across HV/EHV substations design (up to 500kV ideally). Ideally have experience in use of engineering software in the design Understanding of design and how it impacts on construction Be organised, adaptable and able to think outside the box Have well-developed interpersonal skills and manage stakeholder relationships being an excellent communicator; able to explain complex issues to a range of stakeholders (internal and external) Be results-oriented with good technical engineering basis in either transmission, distribution or rail traction power and managing project delivery Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering What We Offer: A career with Beca will provide you with: Flexibility & Wellbeing : We recognise that achieving a work-life balance is unique to everyone.
