Principal/Associate Process Engineer (SA|NSW|VIC|QLD)

We are involved in some of Australia's industry leading water programs partnering with key clients including: SA Water Engineering Panel Logan Water Partnership, Logan City Council Wastewater Regional Program and Water Southern Zones Programs, Urban Utilities Capital Delivery Office (CDO), TasWater Gold Coast PSP Delivering 4 Customers, Sydney Water About you We understand that everybody's strengths differ, and while we value having the right experience, we are opening applications to those at a Senior level. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary national team to deliver projects in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia. Provide expertise in process engineering and odour treatment on water infrastructure projects. Contribute to the successful delivery of projects, including providing technical input, technical design, technical review and sign-off (as appropriate), and risk management. Keep abreast of current water and wastewater technology and provide high technical expertise and innovation in the design and procurement of projects. Work collaboratively with clients, project stakeholders, and vendors to identify and deliver innovative project outcomes. Provide technical contribution to proposals and/or pursuits. Participate in company development initiatives. Support and mentor staff, including active participation in the Mentoring Program. Active involvement in shaping the industry and events through committees, industry bodies, delivery papers, etc. About you: This role is strategically important to our future growth and impact. We are looking for someone who has a can-do attitude, who is consultative, able to prioritise their work, and lead project teams. The successful candidate will be a team player, and able to work with a range of stakeholders, including influencing senior leaders. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. MIEAust or IChemE equivalent, CPEng and RPEQ. Proven experience in engineering consulting is an advantage. Experience in the Australian water industry with a water treatment focus is an advantage. Technical skills across a broad range of areas of Ventilation and Odour Treatment Process discipline. Demonstrated experience ‘thinking outside the box’ and challenging the status quo. Ability to break down complex problems, develop cohesive strategic responses, and then present to stakeholders to come to an agreement on a preferred way forward. Identifies strategic risks, situations where these risks may become problematic during project delivery, and informs the project team. Interest in the environmental and social impacts of our work and ability to take this into account when developing decision-making processes. Experience in the process design of odour treatment plant design and odour modelling. Experience with plant commissioning would be an asset. Ability to act as a project manager and design manager. Experience in CHAIR and HAZOP and related safety in design practices and processes. Skills to identify risk in small, medium, and large-profile projects.
