This great opportunity presents an ideal time to join this innovative transport consultancy with reach across the globe who are seeking to appoint a highly skilled Principal Economist. As part of their business case and economics team, you will be joining a team providing advice to a wide range of clients across a range of transport modes and related wider challenges around economic performance, housing delivery, net-zero and place.



For your part you will have a history and interest in developing and applying/overseeing economic techniques and analysis. These will include experience in developing business case analysis in line with the Department's Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG) and include an understanding of and wider economic impacts guidance. Alongside this you will have experience of leading the development of business cases and other related advice, and of reporting this to senior clients or officials.



This consultancy support their clients by delivering specialist consultancy services across transport, cities and infrastructure.



Key to the role is your enthusiasm for the industry and the ability to embrace a huge range of schemes as the practice work with local and combined authorities, regional authorities, Government and government agencies offering a spectrum of economic advice across business case, funding submissions, evaluation and economic impact analysis. Their advice and expertise covers all modes including urban transit, active modes, rail, bus strategy and bus franchising, demand management and roads.



In more detail you will work as part of a team providing solutions to public and private sector clients and your duties will typically include:-



Client and stakeholder liaison to understand requirements for the projects



Provision of high-quality advice to clients



Leading work streams within projects with supervision, ensuring that best practice techniques are applied consistently



* Preparing and presenting reports, proposals and presentations



* Manage project budgets exercising effective financial and budgetary control



* Taking responsibility to specify economic analysis, interpret and review outputs and convey findings tailored as appropriate to technical and non-technical audiences



* Contributing to the production and delivery of proposals related to their market area



Assisting in general business development initiatives as well as taking part in training to develop both your technical and consultancy skills.
